Aspects of IELTS

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) four language skills


In this section, candidates listen to recordings of native English speakers and answer questions. The recordings include conversations, monologues, and discussions.


Test-takers read a variety of texts and answer questions based on the information presented. The texts may include articles, advertisements, and passages on academic or general topics.


This section involves two tasks. In Task 1, candidates interpret and describe visual information, such as graphs or charts. In Task 2, they write an essay in response to a point of view, argument, or problem.


The speaking test assesses the ability to communicate verbally. It consists of three parts: an introduction and interview, a short speech based on a prompt, and a discussion.
